about

Two Fields Of Visions
2 long cosmic dreamscapes evoking distances, movement, and light, and haunting textures.

The 10th album by ambient electronic duo Memory Wire does something new in that that it features just 2 long tracks.

Trajectory starts with a cosmic soundscape and evolves through minimal repeated patterns and sound textures which give a feeling of movement throughout the piece. Trajectory was recorded live at The Church Of Sound, JT Soar, Nottingham, UK.

Mirage has a stillness, which suggests distance and textures that have a tinkling and a fuzzy glow to them, and a feeling of timelessness. Mirage was recorded live at Aloft Studios, Leicester UK.

Recent albums have featured guests and collaborators, so this is their first totally duo album since Fingerprints, and some of the static textures bring to mind their ambient classic album Aura. Chris Conway & Jim Tetlow did not discuss what they would play before improvising these pieces, and it is fascinating to hear that their sound, though touching base with the familiar, has moved on again.

Whereas their last album Dervish House was all about lyrical minimal patterns, Field Of Vision is all about cosmic ambiances and shades of sound.
